Luis Jorge Akle is of counsel at the firm and focuses his practice in the energy and environmental sector. He has relevant experience advising both in conventional and renewable energy projects like wind and solar, as well as energy trading and supply agreements. In addition, he has experience in energy transactions and ensuring regulatory compliance with agencies such as the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) and the National Center for Energy Control (CENACE), combining legal and technical expertise.

In the environmental law aspect, Luis provides advice on regulatory compliance, environmental impact assessments, and infrastructure planning for industrial and coastal developments. He helps clients navigate the often-complex landscape of national and international environmental regulations, ensuring that projects align with sustainability standards. His work includes advising on environmental impact assessments for energy and industrial projects, with a focus on minimizing ecological disruption while maximizing operational efficiency.

During his professional experience he had participated in the preparation of a legal report for the World Bank and the Ministry of Energy for the possible implementation of carbon capture, use and storage in Mexico and assists on environmental matters for the implementation of Clean Development Mechanisms in accordance with the Kyoto Protocol in Mexico and Latin America.
